Just wanted everyone with a 4,1 or 5,1 to know that we have slipped under the knife one more time.
The 3,1 will require a few tricks to work with Sierra but so far the 4,1/5,1 are easy breezy. Hopefully they don't titghten things down in the final GM. In other good news, Nvidia has already released a Web Driver for 10.12 (see our drivers page) and it has HINTS of Pascal support. So I'd say it's a fair bet that we will be seeing GTX1080 and GTX1070 running on cMP soon. Hats off to Nvidia for standing by us as Apple continues trying to become a toy company.

To hear of two potential pieces of good news simultaineously is wonderful indeed. I`m sure that I speak for many who look forward to yet another major reincarnation of our much loved Mac Pro`s.

I have a MP 3,1 with SSD and was waiting for AMD's Polaris cards (now announced) so that I could get Metal support. I wasn't expecting an other concerns with Sierra!! :-(

That's sound like great news! Hoping we will have the real opportunity to get that stuff working in our tuned cMPs.

Does the GTX 1070/1080 include EFI boot support necessary to show the Apple logo, or will it require flashing as in previous series cards?

Nvidia should know about the hackintosh community, so why not keep developing drivers for those users? And maybe get Apple to use decent cards.
